Which internet speed test is trusted and why is there such a variance between them? I used ookla, fast , and google’s internet speed test which gave me the corresponding 160mbps, 250mbps, and 580 mbps. I tested each website 5 times and the above recorded data is the average. It was generally consistent. These differences are crazy and I’m not sure which one to believe.
Basically like how speedtest.net works, except I want to point it towards my own server so i can test my speed towards the server from elsewhere? It has to be a web application.
r speedtest is a community for the purpose of discovering how to make Internet connections faster.
I generally go for Speedtest.net because that seems to be what most ISPs will use as reasonable proof of performance. When you say 400Mbps are you wired or wireless? What's your plan supposed to be? What kind of internet?
Is there a way to have PowerShell perform a network speed test every hour and log the results in a CSV?
Speedtest showed the full speed we were paying for, but I could never get anywhere near that speed when downloading from anywhere else. It was barely usable but we were locked into a contract.
12 votes, 13 comments. true Hello OPNsense reddit community, I'm a bit of a noob with OPN buuut ive managed to muddle my way through with VLANs and Statics and everything i need, so far... I'm wondering if theres a way of getting it to monitor ISP speed (Automatic speedtest type thing with logging and a nice little widget, over time) figuring i only need it to run once an hour every two. then ...
Maybe speedtest was just overloaded at the time, or the unique pathway to it was congested, or they are capping free tests or whatever. And fast was not busy, or closer to you, or whatever. Like all tests, the bigger and more varied the sample size, the closer you'll get to your true results.
Basically what the title says, i'm wondering how bad important or even how accurate ooklas speed test is for the download and upload latency; my idle latency is around 6 10ms but during the download test it shows the download latency anywhere between 300 500ms whilst the upload latency stays at a steady 9ms. i'm on wired and get about 400mb down and 50mb up. I'm not having any real issues that ...
Hey everyone i need some help...what is the most effective methods to obtain highly accurate internet speed test results? I currently use a ngt running pfsense and several other operating systems, and I'm interested in developing an app that not only provides precise speed test measurements but also allows me to save the results. While fast and speedtest.net are popular choices, I've ...
