My 2017 Subaru Outback 3.6R first had a dead battery issue last July. I replaced the battery and car ran fine for a month. Then battery is dead again and again replaced. Took it to a really good mechanic who told me I had a parasitic drain probably the electrical system and to go to a Subaru dealer for repair.
Subaru just installed dcm bypass box today on my 2019 obx 2.5. Originally they were going to replace dcm module but apparently this is new fix to the problem. fingers crossed.
I'm a Subaru fanboy, but I also appreciate other brands, specifically Honda and Toyota. The thing with Subarus is they don't take skipping maintenance and super long intervals for fluids, way above and beyond what the manual recommends.
